Kelley S Crozier, MD

Chair, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Crozier is a graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine who went on to complete her residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She advanced to become a Chief Resident and then the first female Vice Chair at Jefferson. She remained as a full-time faculty member there until 2002 when she came to Reading Hospital as section chief, later growing PM&R into a full department and becoming the hospital’s first PM&R Chair.

Dr. Crozier has also achieved her MBA from Alvernia University in Reading, PA. Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Dr. Crozier is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Crozier’s professional interests include the rehabilitation of patient with traumatic injuries and medically complexities. Neurorehab and Parkinson Disease are further areas of her expertise where she also works in the Parkinson’s clinic with our Movement Disorder neurologist and the interdisciplinary team. Dr. Crozier can be heard throughout the halls of the hospital whistling and during her time at home she enjoys gardening.

Somkiat Hemtasilpa, MD

Program Director, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand Dr. Hemtasilpa received his medical degree from Phramongkutklao College of Medicine then went onto finish his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at Phramongkutklao Hospital in Bangkok. After finishing residency in Thailand Dr. Hemtasilpa became an International Medical Graduate at SUNY Buffalo Graduate Medical-Dental Education Consortium Program where he later graduated from their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency program. He went on to complete a Spinal Cord Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia and VA Medical Center. In addition, he is also sub-specialty certifies in Pain Medicine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine and Spinal Cord Medicine.

Dr. Hemtasilpa then returned to Bangkok where he served as a Lt. Colonel in the Royal Thai Army Hospital for five years. While enlisted, he worked as the President of the PM&R Thai Board Examination Committee as well as the Associate Program Director of The Royal Thai Army Hospital’s residency in PM&R. Through his time in Thailand he received a title DPMJ, Dato which is equivalent to that of the knighthood, from the late Majesty Sultan of Johor, Malaysia. On a yearly basis he continues to lecture in Thailand as an invited guest at their annual PM&R meetings. Dr. Hemtasilpa’s professional interests include Spinal cord injuries, electrodiagnostic testing toxin injections, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and injections. He is also Assistant Professor at Drexel University Department of Medicine.

Paul S Brockman, MD

Core Outpatient Faculty, Medical Student Educator

Dr. Brockman graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, later completing his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Johns Hopkins. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well in Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Brockman’s first career was as a high school science teacher, so he brings years of pedagogical passion and expertise to his more recent teaching position as an Assistant Professor at Drexel University Department of Medicine. His areas of interest include Cancer Rehabilitation, complex Electrodiagnostic testing, Ultrasound, and injections under ultrasound guidance. Dr. Brockmans downtime is often spent on the tennis court working on his swing.

William N Gleason, MD

Assistant Program Director

Dr. Gleason graduated from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. Initially starting his career as a surgical resident, Dr. Gleason soon found himself drawn to the holistic field of PM&R. After transitioning disciplines, he then went on to finish his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Pennsylvania Dr. Gleason is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is also a Pennsylvania Department of Health Approval Medical Marijuana Practitioner. His areas of interest include spasticity management, musculoskeletal complexities, stoke, injections under ultrasound, toxin injections, and electrodiagnostic testing.

Brian L Fellechner, DO

Core Outpatient Faculty, Research Coordinator

Brian Fellechner, DO, Core Outpatient Faculty, Research Coordinator - Dr. Fellechner began his journey in medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and later completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. Since joining our staff Dr. Fellechner has been an integral part of creating our outpatient urgent spine clinic. He is board certified in Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Acupuncture.

Dr. Fellechner is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr Fellechner has had a diverse clinical career working previously at Good Shepard and St. Luke’s and has experience both in Inpatient and Outpatient rehab settings. He also was in Family Practice for 3 years with the National Health Service where he delivered baby in the back seat of a Chevrolet Bel Air. For 30 years Dr. Fellechner has been the lead guitarist in a Rock Band.

Haiping Mei, MD

Core Faculty, Amputee Medical Director

Dr. Mei was born and raised in Shanghai, China which is where he started his career in medicine at Shanghai Medical University and then went to a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Zhongshan Hospital. After coming to the United States, Dr. Mei obtained his Ph.D. of Microbiology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, later completing his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency also at the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Dr. Mei is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Drexel University College of Medicine. His areas of clinical interest include Amputee’s, electrodiagnostic testing, injections, pain management, and general rehab. Dr. Mei is an avid traveler and his most memorable travel experience was to Thailand.

Li-hong Lu, MD

Outpatient Faculty

Born and raised in Shandong, China, Dr. Lu started her journey in medicine at Shandong Medical University. After coming to the United States, she completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Lu is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as licensed in Acupuncture.

Dr. Lu is also an Assistant Professor at Drexel University Department of Medicine. Her clinical areas of interest include toxin injections, osteopathic manipulations, electrodiagnostic medicine, injections, and acupuncture. Dr Lu is also an assistant Tia Chi instructor and an expert Tia Chi master.

Kevin G Moser, MD

Faculty Associate

Dr. Moser recently completed his residency at Penn State Health at Hershey Medical Center after graduating from Penn State College of Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in pre-professional studies and psychology. Dr. Moser’s areas of interest include spasticity management, musculoskeletal pain medicine, and medical education. He is looking forward to an active role in building the PM&R residency program and educating the next generation of physiatrists. On a personal note, Dr. Moser grew up in Fair Lawn, NJ and is an avid Notre Dame Football fan.

Silke A Bernert, MD

Medical Director Brain Injury Unit

Originally from Germany, Dr. Bernert attended medical school at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. She later went onto complete her PM&R residency at the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining our program, Dr. Bernert was the Program Director of Brain Injury Rehab with Hartford Healthcare in Connecticut and an Assistant Professor at UConn. She also worked as the Medical Director of the Brain Injury Unit at Cardinal Hill Rehab in KY. Dr. Bernert is board certified in Brain Injury Medicine and is interested in Brain Injury Recovery, Disorders of Consciousness, Early Rehabilitation and Mobility in the Acute Care Hospital involving all diagnosis. Outside of medicine, Dr. Bernert enjoys spending time with her husband and her 6 year old Cane Corso, Nera.

Dawn M Rider, MD

Inpatient Attending

Dr. Dawn Rider started her journey in medicine at the University of Medicine & Dentistry - New Jersey, now known as Rutgers School of Biomedical and Health Sciences. After graduating medical school Dr. Rider completed her internship year at Overlook Hospital and then went on to complete her Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency at Thomas Jefferson University. Prior to joining Tower Health, Dr. Rider worked at top-tier Rehabilitation Hospitals like Magee, Kessler and the University of Pittsburg. Dr. Rider is skilled in Inpatient Rehabilitation Care, Team Building, and Healthcare Management. We are lucky to have Dr. Rider on our team!
