Tower Gift Shop
Hospital Gift Shops are so much more than a place to pick up a card or a gift. They are an oasis for family members during a difficult time with a loved one. They are a place of delight and peace for the staff who work so hard to care for each patient. Volunteers who help out in the gift shop are actively helping everyone who comes into our beautiful flagship store to de-stress. If you would like to volunteer in an every changing environment of delightful and beautiful items while making a difference in many peoples' lives become a volunteer for the Tower Gift Shop.
Many people have a heart to give and love to be active. Being a helping hands volunteer keeps you on the move running errands, delivering supplies, organizing closets and helping staff with more physical activities.
Clerical volunteers are needed in many areas of the Reading Hospital. If you love to file, answer phones, do light clerical tasks, we have a place for you.

Duties: Provides patients and staff with pet therapy under the supervision of the Director of the PAWS for Wellness program.*Pets must be certified therapy animals. This position requires additional criminal clearances.
Reach Out and Read*
If you love reading and would like to pass that love on to some of our youngest patients, please apply for this position.
Duties: Reads to children in the waiting room, restocks free book cart, models reading for parents and other care givers. Books will be provided.

No One Dies Alone Companion - NODAC
Everyone deserves to pass from this life to the next with dignity, care and comfort. Sometimes there just isn't a family member or friend available to support this process. NODAC volunteers are specially trained and have the compassion and the time to sit besides with our patients. If you understand the value of this gift, please consider becoming a No One Dies Alone Companion volunteer.
Are you at least 16 years of age and considering going into the medical field? Do you have a desire to help alleviate many people's suffering? Would you like to volunteer in the busiest Emergency Department (ED) in the state? We would love to have you volunteer. You will be trained and mentored by one of our experienced volunteers.
Compassionate Care Giver
These volunteers have a heart for being a kind presence and offer companionship to patients.
Duties: Read, play games, and/or listen to patients, capture patient stories via the Story Catcher program for staff, bring patients small comforts such as a prayer shawl, an extra blanket, neck pillow, or Compassionate Care Heart when needed. Position located in the Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing.
