Tower Health CEO Appointed to HAP Board of Directors

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania Advocates for a Healthier State

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), a statewide membership services organization that has advocated for the health and well-being of all commonwealth citizens for almost a century, has announced the appointment of Clint Matthews, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tower Health, to its board of directors effective January 1, 2019.

HAP is a statewide membership services association that represents nearly 240 organizations, as well as the patients and communities they serve. Additional information about HAP is available online at www.haponline.org.

"I am honored to join the board of directors of HAP as our two organizations truly share a mutual commitment to advance and improve the health of our communities," said Clint Matthews, Tower Health's President and CEO. "I look forward to working with HAP to advance care that is of higher quality, better value, and more consumer focused across the Commonwealth."

Mr. Matthews joined Reading Hospital as President and CEO in 2010 and led the transformation and creation of Tower Health. He has spent more than four decades in healthcare, having been a CEO of both non-profit and for-profit organizations, providers and payers, as well as a managing director of FTI Healthcare.

As one of the 25 healthcare leaders from across the commonwealth serving on the board, Mr. Matthews will be actively involved in the development of HAP's public policy and supporting its mission of ensuring and caring for a healthier Pennsylvania.

"HAP's Board of Directors provides invaluable guidance into the association's initiatives, advocacy platforms, and strategic direction," said Andy Carter, HAP's president and CEO. "Clint has vast healthcare experience and a deep understanding of the changing healthcare landscape. We are grateful for Clint's leadership at Tower Health and for his willingness to bring his vision and experience to the HAP Board."
