At Tower Health, our neurosurgery team works closely with neurologists, radiologists, oncologists, and rehabilitation specialists to develop the most complete and individualized treatment plans for you. Our specialists are focused on treating the most complex conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, neurovascular disease, spine disease, epilepsy, stroke, and cancer.

We offer advanced minimally invasive surgery, which means a much faster recovery, with less trauma to your body. You can get leading-edge care right here in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Innovative, comprehensive neurosurgical services.

Our highly trained surgeons focus on diagnosing and treating you with a specialized care plan to improve your function and quality of life. Our goal is to restore as much function as possible using the least invasive method possible. That is why we use minimally invasive techniques and the most advanced technology available. Types of surgery we perform include:

  • General neurosurgery. When possible, we use minimally invasive techniques to surgically treat diseases of the brain, spine and nervous system, including tumors, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, and degenerative spinal conditions.
  • Neurovascular surgery. Our neurovascular experts diagnose and treat vascular disease in the brain and spinal cord, including aneurysms, strokes, skull-based tumors, and carotid disease.
  • Neuromodulation. Using implantable devices, we delivery electrical stimulation or medicine to the nervous system to treat disorders and enhance your quality of life. Neuromodulation is often used in pain, movement disorders, seizures, and epilepsy.
  • Spine surgery. Our neurosurgeons have experience with a wide range of back and spine conditions and specialize in minimally invasive techniques in decompression surgery, disc replacement, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, laminotomy, and radiofrequency ablation.
  • Neurosurgical neuro-oncology. Using the latest intraoperative neuronavigation technology and high powered microscopes, our surgeons work closely with electrophysiologists to remove your brain and pituitary tumors in the safest way possible.
  • Radiosurgery. For patients that do not require open surgery, highly focused radiation beams are used to precisely target tumors to halt or shrink their growth with the goal of causing the least amount of damage to surrounding normal brain tissue.
  • Normal pressure hydrocephalus. Patients with enlarged fluid chambers in the brain that have difficulty keeping their balance, remembering things, or excessively going to the bathroom may benefit from a shunt that drains that fluid to the abdomen.
  • Movement disorders/Parkinson’s disease. Patients with tremors or rigidity from Parkinson’s disease can sometimes benefit from surgery when medication no longer works. The surgery entails implanting an electrode wire into the brain that is attached to a generator implanted under the skin.
  • Pediatric neurosurgery. Our pediatric neurosurgeons treat children of all ages with diseases and conditions of the brain, spine, and nervous system.
  • Trauma. Our neurosurgeons are often in the front lines in managing minor or severe traumatic injuries of the spine and brain. Our neurosurgeons repair vertebral column fractures of the spine, remove blood clots from the brain, and help the trauma and neurocritical teams manage severe closed head injury patients.
  • Peripheral nerve surgery. Our neurosurgeons offer surgery to patients with peripheral nerve problems such as carpel tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve compression.
  • Trigeminal neuralgia/facial pain. When one of the cranial nerves in the brain is being compressed, our neurosurgeons use highly precise microsurgical techniques to help relieve that pressure.

Using advanced technology for more precise surgery.

Surgery on the brain and spine requires precision that is even more effective using advanced technologies and image-guided tools. The use of advanced technology means less damage to healthy tissue, better outcomes for you, and a quicker relief of symptoms.
