A Leader in Robotic Surgery

Tower Health has locations that offer the newest type of minimally invasive surgery: robotic surgery. Just like laparoscopy or other types of minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery uses fewer or smaller incisions. However, compared to other techniques, robotic surgery may offer several advantages:

  • It uses innovative robotic technology. Tiny surgical tools and a camera are attached to robotic arms. Your surgeon controls these arms from a computer.
  • It helps increase precision and control. As your surgeon moves their hand, wrist and fingers, the robotic arms perform the same subtle movements — at the same time. Robotic arms can also bend and rotate more fully than human hands.
  • It enhances your surgeon’s vision. During robotic surgery, a high-definition camera provides a close-up, 3D view of the surgical area. During other minimally invasive procedures, surgeons have a two-dimensional view.

At select locations, we can combine robotics and surgical technology as never before, allowing your surgeon to provide the most effective and least invasive treatment option available for a wide range of complex conditions.

For the patient, benefits may include:

  • Significantly less pain
  • Less blood loss
  • Less scarring
  • Shorter recovery time
  • Smaller incisions
  • Faster return to normal daily activities
  • In many cases, better clinical outcomes
