Phoenixville Hospital has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Primary Stroke Center Certification.

Phoenixville Hospital underwent a rigorous onsite review by The Joint Commission. During the visit, a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with related certification standards, including program management, door-to-CT scan times, how quickly patients received thrombolytic medication, and the delivery and facilitation of quality clinical care. Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. The reviewers also conducted on-site observations and interviews.

"We commend Phoenixville Hospital for using The Joint Commission certification process to reduce variation in clinical processes and to strengthen its clinical program to drive safer, higher-quality, and more compassionate care for individuals served.”

Phoenixville Hospital also received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines. The recognition included the AHA Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, which aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who might be at higher risk of complications, receive the most up-to-date care when hospitalized due to stroke.
